WHAT DO YOU CALL IT?
What do you call time spent thinking good things
Daydreaming about taking baths together in the hot springs.
What do you call dreams of 1000 kisses
Dreams of sugar coated wishes.
What name is to be given
To devotion of every second
Of every minute of every year
To envisioning someone's face
To wanting to let them know you care.
What sentence should be written
That says what I feel
When I wake up, when I eat
when I walk and when I sleep.
What word has man derived
that speaks forth what's in my mind
When you hear it speak it first
Because you are my universe.
Never think that things are good as they are
They can always be better
Or worse in the future
Believe that all things can be great
And don't be disappointed if they aren't
Look towards the future as though it were fake
That way disappointment and happiness
Are all you expect
When life gives you lemons
Lemonade is what you make
But if you are handed sugar and cake
Why search for water in a dry lake
I tell you this now
Don't take maybe for an answer
Settle for yes
Even though "no" is what you're after! |
THE MOON
Its light breaks through yonder window
And enters mine eyes
Its soothing, luring song
Draws me from sleep. This song of promise
So loud so clear
Yet only we
-creatures of the night-
can hear
As it draws me ever near
Telling of its gardens of white oleander.
Its ain of light
heaven bound
Seems fragile yet,
Amazingly secure,
The moon draws me
Close
So full
so bright
It makes me forget
That I've got my feet on the ground.
A perfect shape-at all times
A perfet size
A beautiful light
That never burns out
A contest of wills
As we stare into the night
An all seeing eye
That looks for only one sight.
A lover that cals
At the darkest of hours
A touch that expands
Beyond any boundary
An endless distance
Yet an amazing proximity
A far reaching call
Though a short coming reaction
Calls out to say
If I'm sure
It can take me to a place of awe.
This place where heartbreak
Can never exist
And pains and troubles fall
Into the abyss
Where joy triumphs and
Love abounds.
Where I can be me and
Speak my own vows
Where only light guides me
Yet darkness consoles me
Where a day never passes
And the night never ends
where stars sing lullabies
and dance with no end.
The moon
So far, in the heavens
So close in my heart
A darling light
That sends chills down my spine.
A seemingly harmless orb
Aimlessly floating in the sky
How deceiving you are!
With your raking fingers
That seem to tear at the skin
Your alluring eyes
Undress and caress
Your warming light
Make goosebumps pop in fright
And your calming presence
Scatters all fear and shadow.
A part of the darkness
yet a part of light
A deceiving portrayal
Of comfort and peace
Yet a cunning surveyor
Of all that goes on beneath
Why must you haunt me? |

RHAPSODY I no longer sleep well on my own.
Your heartbeat- the rhythm of night,
The comfort of holding you close,
The tenderness of your lips caress on my cheek
Heat of your body drawn up close to mine,
Your soft-sounding breath near my ear,
It makes me smile at its simplicity.
You close your eyes against my neck,
I know because your lashes- long and thick
Brush sweetly against my skin.
Your hands in mine, arm over my waist
Makes me feel guarded and loved.
I cherish our nightly walks through the mind
The garden carefully planted and diligently toiled.
You seek solace in my voice,
I gain courage from your words.
I cannot bear you to leave my side
Nightmares come when you are gone.
You keep me company when they force through
You shelter me through the storm
You have been there at moments of vulnerability
When I have felt shame and disgrace
Even when the embers’ light fades. |
