SHERWIN "DUPES" BRICE: Producer for Hire
Dupes20-something yr old Sherwin “Dupes” Brice, has grown to be a talented singer, songwriter and producer. Mr. Brice made his debut on the local charts with his album “My Way In.” The album consisted of hit tracks; “shake it for me,” til morning,” “in da south,” and “tribute to Jany” amongst others. This well arranged album saw collaborations with other artistes like Shepp Dawg and Young Mecca. Dupes  is no stranger to the music business. Starting as a solo producer for local talent on his home island St. Lucia, Dupes pursued his adoration for music and honoured his skills as a keyboardist and aspiring drum machinist to progress into the well-rounded and talented musician he is today. This young man, imbued with the natural inclination for music, has already made his mark on the charts by concocting a frenzy of popular party anthems and meaningful Caribbean flavoured hits, both locally and internationally.

His accomplishments includes: owning his group (758), having top ten hits on Barbadian charts in 2004 including the single “Pop It” and again in 2005 for 8 straight weeks in St. Lucia with his number one sensation “Your Body” off the album My Way In.  Co-Founder of the Get Your Mind Right Music Group established in 2004, Dupes’ mission has been the optimum development of artistes. Co-Founder of the Get Your Mind Right Music Group established in 2004, Dupes’ mission has been the optimum development of artistes.

This mission includes heightening the awareness of Get Your Mind Right music and its impact beyond the reaches and expectations of small minds where possibilities will be endless to the artistes and the youth with recognized standard. .My Way In, a slow tempo soca collaboration fused with an up-tempo R&B prowess, is the first official release from the music group and has been reviewed as in the veins of Rupee and Kevin Lyttle. On this LP, Dupes is responsible for 95% of the production on the album in association with upcoming European producer DJ Lams. Dupes is the definition of determination and hard work. This artist/producer epitomizes perseverance, diversity, and success.

...With so much talent, he has found himself producing hit tracks for huge local acts like “Ninja Dan, Shane Ross, Cherry L, Mecca, Shepp Dawg, Ja Da Kid, Kakal, PCL Krew, Yardie, Alley Kat, Naughty Ranks.” The international persona also welcomed the work of this young producer in the persons of Hoodhefna and Ill Tatics outta Houston Texas and DJ-M out of the UK. In addition, of course, this dude has work in progress awaiting completion. Another local star “Kayo,” who rocked the St. Lucia Jazz festival last year, is just one more of many artistes who are having the music currently being produced by Dupes. Not only is he a fine producer, he also delivers quality and quantity on time and in time.

...After the tragic death of our 2004 Calypso Queen, Jany M. Williams, Dupes hit the studio with Shepp Dawg and Mecca and put up the song “Don’t Cry (Tribute to Jany Williams)” in a matter of hours. This track lives in the hearts of many St. Lucians and is possibly one of the best tracks that Dupes produced. Now, Sherwin Brice has started another episode in the life and times of his alias, Dupes. A new television show called Infectious Tv is now taking a new twist on the YOUTUBE.com domain as Sherwin is currently exploring the video realm. Whether we call him Sherwin, Dupes, Jack, Homes, Bro, or any other name, he is a reflection of the youth’s power in St. Lucia.

...With his own upcoming TV-show in motion, this talented artiste has already been video-rized. His chart topping single (Impossible) which stayed on the Wave radio station for over 5 weeks, was recreated in TV-world, as viewers not only heard, but also saw the personification of the lyrics. Another video for another hit (In Da South) was yet another Tv era. Famous Cartoonist Ted Sandiford of Acid Dezigns added his well-loved creativity to Dupes’ “Shake it For Me.” This evolution infected the song with a contagious visuo-effect that again captured the hearts of old and young locals alike. DUPES: A Producer you should definitely hire!!!!!..
